I am able to see where everyone is within the documents and can see exactly when changes are made. I've worked alongside a dozen other people in one document. The thing that makes Google Docs so useful, however, is it's real-time collaboration, which works seamlessly with multiple users. Google Docs doesn't look at all like Microsoft Office, and has a very different user interface, but it does have many of the same, familiar features you know from Office. The changes will be made when your Mac is back online. There is a Google Drive app you can download onto Mac so you can work offline. Just visit the web-based app from your browser and you can create word processor documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. If you have a Gmail account, or a Google Hangouts account, or a YouTube account, you have Google Docs. Google Docs is the easiest replacement for Microsoft office because it's so accessible. They recommend you upgrade to macOS Mojave 10.14 or above. To ensure a smooth transition, Microsoft recommends that you upgrade machines accordingly. Bugs and issues found on or specific to unsupported operating systems will no longer be investigated or fixed.New installations on unsupported operating systems will be blocked.It is not advised to continue to run on these unsupported operating systems. These clients will continue to run, but their functionality will no longer be tested. Existing OneDrive sync client installations on unsupported operating systems will stop updating.How users will be impacted after this change has rolled out: Note: Both macOS Sierra 10.12 and macOS High Sierra 10.13 have been out of Apple’s mainline support since September 2019 and November 2020, respectively. When a new major version of macOS is released, Microsoft will support the new version and the previous two versions. Going forward, only the three most recent versions of macOS will be supported. As such, Microsoft is ending support for the OneDrive Desktop application (sync client) on macOS Sierra 10.12 and macOS High Sierra 10.13 and focusing their resources on new technologies and supported operating systems.
